Stay Away From Hotels that Have Gas Leaks or Carbon Monoxide Poisoning

So... Look up any hotel, there are hotels who have survived over 100 years without a gas leak and Carbon monoxide poisoning why is that its superb maintenance of the hotel. Now it may look ugly but at least you do not have an event happen like carbon monoxide poisoning. At the hotel in question I've had 3 people tell me this: Filters have not been changed in 3 years even though they were supposed to be all replaced all of last year Hotel was chaotic in the evacuation of the hotel (no drills were in place or SOP was out of date) Hotel is stating they had gotten indication of the gas leak however, guests are saying no alarms were going off, and that repeated 911 calls were ignored. As a staff member it took an arm and a leg to get confirmation it was safe to work at the hotel without any adverse health effects. I had to go through the GM after being ignored by the Director of Operations, HR director and Front Office Manager who did not have any documentation from the Fire Marshals t...

Every Hotel Should enact the "We go together" or "In Front Of Them All" Policy

I do not care if this is an inference to the military. In my opinion this phrase should not exist because we should not be in Korea and thats all I'll say about that. Im a civilian so let the hate pour i guess In my opinion if you are on the overnight you should have a full support person in otherwards a second person to have your back. Something I have experienced numerous times to where I would have appreciated at least a witness. So this is how this policy would work. Hotel with a Night Auditor and Security Guard (not officer it gets to security personnel heads) Night Auditor get a call or a queue such as a disturbance. One of two things will happen Security will be dispatched along with the Night Auditor as a witness or vice versa, the second person acts as a Full Support Person in other words they will stay in the background with full attention to the situation, but will not act unless the Security Guard is under duress, even if the Security Guard is under duress the Night Au...

Creation of A Military Casino Continued addition of Military Lounge bars and Breweries.

Repost, I fell this would be sound way of trying to keep the soldiers on base so they do not get in trouble with civilian law. And any discrepancies can be covered by the base or the unit. I will be adding more to this stay tuned, its just an idea.   Just balls to the wall, I know nothing about the military never served, just following hearsay I guess for the information but here we go, just gonna update as I go as how I think this would be ran, it will show I know nothing like that Hogan Hero's Program Military Monte Carlo Program Will consist of Tables and Slot machines chosen by the Command of the Military installation and Morale, Welfare Recreation. Final say of an establishment of the Monte Carlo Program will be in the hands of the Base Commander. MWR DPCA with optional minimal input from the MWR Business Division Chief, Garrison Commander, Base Commander. Final decision will be made by the Base Commander and Area Monte Carlo Program Director (Regional). Tables will be a Categ...

A Creation of The Community Security Officer in Hotels is Needed

This is a theory I propose. A creation of the post of Community Security Officer for business activities throughout the hotel to include. Rooms Division and F&B division (including Banquets). Hotel GMs and Management will not have a choice in allocation of security for security purposes. The Security Officer position is determined by the crime in the area, circumstances of the hotel, and the potential fraud the hotel may be doing,  not by budget. The purpose is to provide Safety and Security both Physical, backroom, and having a presence of appearing to have security in the function they have service in. The position is to serve as security and nothing else. Management is not to meddle in the functions of a Community Security Officer. It shall be the Community Security Officers prerogative to assist in any functions of the establishment if needed. Community Security Officer answers to the Regional Manager or Loss Prevention/Security Chief of the company only. The General ...

Living In The Past

Not anything negative just an alternative reality. I recently had a shot at being in the field, but my job hopping had negated that. the good ole NBIS background suited me as a person that would not fit the criteria of an  operations supervisor for what is essentially what would be labeled an NCO club back in the day, but that is here nor there.  These are not my stories but stories told to me. Barring any glass ceilings or prejudices that happened back in the day it was very interesting to say the least. These events in no chronological order happened in the 70s, 80s and early 90s. Mandated by congress MWR package stores were to turn over to AAFES. During this time in the late 80s certain Area's in Korea decided to "screw over" AAFES. MWR package stores had a lifetime supply of cherries, maraschino cherries to be exact. Many of the bases in Korea where MWR leadership were pissed that they were losing the main source of profit for the function decided to sell the cherrie...

The Old Officers Club

Sent this as a submission to a ghost podcast I listen to. A bit of extra backstory. This story pops in my head every now and then, its eerie and its not. If the dream never happened I would've forgot about this club, there were many military base clubs that were 10 times better than this one even at its prime. In fact i can name off 2 to 4 off the top of my head that were in Korea in my opinion anyways. Anyways this is what I sent. When I was a young teenager I used to go exploring around, At the time I had access to the base because of my parents. My favorite place to go was an old I'd say late 1800s to 1900s building formerly an officers club, many people told me different dates of when it was built. Anyways they had bingo night every friday or something at the time, the building was open and I was able to explore it. I always felt there was something in that club. Above the ballroom (where bingo was held) were former quarters that had a very strong feeling and I did not wan...

Curse of the Broken Pilsner Glass

Last week I broke pilsner glass and thought nothing of it. Now do I believe in superstitions party I do. So this is how it played out I go to work, i have to work with a dude I despise. Same dude is being flirty with the girl (her being reciprocal) i thought i had something going with plus he's up to his old shenanigans of being a crappy co worker. I go off on him not once but twice and tell on him to the manager of my grievances. Manager tells me a story that they are building a case against him. They are not, multiple people have had the same problems and reported him dating back to a year before and he's still on the team.  I text the girl and ask her whether she interested in me or not, no response, I know she's not but I want her to say that she's not. (i know should've taken it as a que, but she's been given me mixed messages at work like rubbing my back etc. its annoying to say the least) Next day, I tell the manager that same girl is drinking on the job...
