More of a scathing opinion piece hope you enjoy its entertaining
Secretly the Phillies just extened Klentakexcuse and McFail to extensions WHY?!
They haven't shown anything, they built a power house club full of bats but no pitching to back it up, bullpen is battered with injuries Kapler is a mess, the clubhouse seems to be in disarray (and don't tell me no its because there Gritty), this season again there in First place then there in 2nd now there 3rd place the answer is to get rid of Kapler but I guess management still believes in this guy, at this point even though i don't like the guy i'd rather have Wathan hell I'd take Pete Mckannon or Ruby Amaro over this "analytics manager" in Kapler.
And this brings us to the owner, I believe Middleton can't take an L on this one I think he is stubborn and wants to be right. He wants to believe in these guys and wants them to succeed because of his pride. What Middleton thinks is that sabermetrics/analytics is the answer I strongly disagree especially when Philly is one of the biggest markets. So how to fix this well in my opinion don't rely on the bullpen heavily and if your going to do that, you need to get better relievers, 2nd just because you have a top prospect doesn't mean he's protect from a trade, hell if you signed Harper, Cutch (whose hurt for the rest of the year), and traded for Realmuto your trying to compete right? So don't be chicken to trade a top prospect for a legit ace because you have none, Kapler managed to mess with Arrieta a solid two and who a workhorse, this guy is a veteran he should go deep in games and have a higher pitch count, and you have another solid number two in Nola whose been iffy this season, its high time you get an ace to solidify your starting rotation.
People and I know they exist who say oh well there still rebuilding, Bull, not when you have Harper, Cutch (whose hurt for the rest of the year), and Realmuto not to mention you just traded for Bruce Harper no the Phillies are legit in trying to get to the playoffs, but if there answer to fix the Starting rotation with Mr, Smly then this is the most inept front office staff i've seen more inept than Ruben Amaro.
Are we repeating the 60's you guys managed to successfully do it in 2018 with the biggest collapse since 1964, hell are we repeating the bowa era (which i watched the likes of mediocre Tomas Perez and Robert Person and saw the talent of Rheal Cormier wasted)
