Work Makes Me Whole The Definition Of Me

Does this have anything to do with history? Absolutely not, has nothing to do with history at all. Well don't you hate work gosh complain about to your closest of pals? Sure, but I'm no different than a sports fan complaining that his team should get rid of El Gordo Funmania cause he's hitting .089/ We're humans we complain. So what in the world do you mean work makes you free? What I mean is I'd rather be working than doing nothing. Producing something for some cause than doing absolutely nothing and being idle. Being lazy is not in my blood. By working I have a purpose to better myself and advance a cause. What's the cause or purpose? Well what does every company strive for? Money. How do they make money? Production. My cause or purpose? To become the best I can be in my point of view (thats the most important). I can care less what other people think. As long as I'm happy with me thats all that matters. Why aren't you staying in one pl

Couple of sayings that mean the same thing I dont like to take orders I don't be bossed around I don't like authority People be having power trips yo I've been through this before and a many of us would love to say these phrases and thought about it a great deal. I know there is I know I'm not alone I'm telling you this isn't worth saying You will find yourself down and out, out of favor, and feeling like your going nowhere. Macy's Valuable Tips for An Associate

Image
What does this Mean? I think you know what I think of it just by seeing titles on my blog But Whats your opinion to whoever is reading. Ok so I got this award as an On-Call Associate-warehouse Whoever reads this and whoever works for macy's and yes the store too I'm giving two tips and one inside knowledge of the Macy's Fulfillment Center:-- 1. You will get hired as on call, rake as many hours as possible, keep track of them. Aim for 1000 hours at the least over 625 hours. Reason for this is they have a policy in place where they have to bump you up to part time as long as your in good standing. I don't know if this is the same with the stores. 2. Don't let management and HR get to you (they will try to I've seen it) keep your cool. Any false move and they will not hesitate to discipline you times x2 (bar you from becoming permanent is there goal). Think of yourself as a second class citizen if you will don't protest it just like I said be cool w

Unions and Supervisors/Foremans A Pet To Management

Yes I could have used another word instead of pet for more of a bang but I'd rather be more PG in my writings.  Thought I'd keep it simple and do a list to gather my thoughts in a more efficient manner and where people can follow it. Lets start off with Unions Back when they had sit down strikes, fought, and went to jail for there cause is when they were most effective. They were literally the Blue Collar backbone in those days sticking up for the little man. As Unions got bigger they started to be more like a corporation. Union leaders became white collar and were more interested in how many people they had. They also bowed up and gave into management demands. Union Stewards who once were leaders and stuck up for the blue collars became themselves white collar fat cats, taking back room deals from management, playing favorites, and throwing good workers out because they "complained or were too much of a non-comformist". 1. Every CBA formed with the exception of

Beautiful Places I've Been To

Image
So I thought I'd Share Some Places I've been too that I love unfortunately I don't have Philly on here didn't have a camera phone at the time I went to Philly. However I do have pictures from Vegas, Hoover Dam, Sedona, and The Grand Canyon in Arizona that I took. All were from a vacation I took about 3 or 4 years ago. I'll start with the Grand Canyon. Its beautiful and tremendous. However, touring was a pain lot of people at the separate sites a lot of shops trying to milk money kinda threw out the harmony out of it. Still I loved my time up here. Sedona is what you call a major tourist trap its a beautiful scenery when you drive through it. Then you get to the town. The prices are outrageous but I have to admit I love going to the fudge and jerky shop up there. Gotta admit if though outside of the town is Sedona valley where i went camping twice we had a huge forest party and it was awesome! It got so crazy that a bunch of us decided to climb a s

Human Resources Is Corrupt, Filthy, And Repugnant and Should Be Out of Commission, Common Workers worst enemy

Question? How do we control a diverse workplace with diverse minds? How do we cover up the corruption? How do we brainwash employees into thinking the company works in there best interest? And how do we rid of the JFK's and Lennon's of the workforce or silence them? Answer? With force? No we tried this and we failed almost taking the company down i the process Having LP act as gestapo watching the employees every move? Yes it works sometimes but not all the time. How about having Human Resources... On the outside having a facade of working for the employees and rewarding them but in reality we are doing the bidding of the company and its best interests whether it helps or hurt the employee. And taking the ball out of managements hand and having a uniformed system of policy that hurts 50% of the employees. Forming and changing benefits that we know the employees will balk at because it takes a good portion of there pay. Essentially dissolving those benefits or better

Love and Peace and Being Positive

There are ups and there are downs in life. We all must face even if its miniscule in another persons view. Its always great to look at situations with positive outlook however, its normal to think negatively after all we're all human. When we are at the pinnacle of our peak living the life we must not let greed and cockiness get in our way at the same time we must not let depression get in the way when we are in down times. Why right this? Reason why is I wanted to show the softer side of myself many of my blogs are too bold and outspoken. I wanted this one to be of neutrality. Love is loving yourself and loving others. It is the feeling that you are worth it to be in this world not that you must become something big and important. Loving others is not physical, is not showing, but is more intrinsic. Loving others is know the boundaries of that person and respecting them. It is turning the other cheek when the other has done wrong to you or someone you care the most. And finall

Tips On Buying A Mattress From Sears Not Just Bad But Good...

1. Know who you are working with see if that sales associate is working for you or for themselves its very obvious. 2. Be aware that all associates care about there commission don't get offended if they show you a mattress that is over priced or try to hype it up. 3. Be wary of the sales associate who is trying to be "friends" with you don't let them fool you. 4. Keep in mind that all sales associates are diverse don't be offended by an associate who treats customers like business and keeps it professional. 5. There are quality brands and quality mattresses at Sears most at a reasonable price. They do have cheap mattresses and they are a bit over priced (if your looking for the cheapest mattress go somewhere else). 6. In The Defense Of Nonconformity, Rogue Nations, Rogue People, Rogue Anything and Everything, Absolutely (Non- conformist Manifesto)

There is nothing wrong with being a nonconformist There is nothing wrong with being a rogue influence, person or country People are afraid of change, afraid of new ideas, and afraid of themselves changing absolutely. Threats are not threats if handled correctly. What is my basis for this why am I saying this I am saying this because I myself am a nonconformist. I don't buy that the world has to be run by a group of rich elite I don't believe that to have an effective workplace that you need authoritarian dictatorships I believe the US needs to bow out of foreign affairs and stop categorizing what is evil and what is good. Corporations if they are people should never deny healthcare, layoff people, and take offense when someone opposes them. Am I saying I hate rich people? No! I don't mind the Steve Wynns, Ed Snider and even Hefner. I do mind the rich people who throw money at campaigns and lobbyists to get there way. Yes I support unions but do I see there faults?

Disadvantages Of A Union

Just because I'm Pro Union doesn't mean that I am going to present my issue only in a positive light. I don't want to be that guy from college who presents an issue stating all positives and leaving out the negatives. Then getting reamed for not putting negatives in there and looking like a fool. So here are some bad points of the union...... 1. Union Stewards mean everything. You have to have a good union steward for your local union shop to be effective. They can't be corrupted to abide by management in anyway and they have to fight for your rights stated in the CBA and other policies. In some cases you have to play politics and be on there good side for them to represent you properly. 2. Unions are businesses like companies. Some people can't accept this thus people stay away from unions for this reason. 3.  Union Dues. no one likes to pay extra for something they may not need 4. Ineffective Unions- Unions which do nothing for you only act as agents to
