Illusions of "private" Security

I currently work for a 3rd party security company that just got a big contract. Now this is not baby's first big contract here they've had big contracts before such as airports. So it surprises me that everything is disorganized right now and rules change on a dime. Another alarming issue is they don't pay bad but can't get anyone which is a bad sign. All issues should've been hashed out before they even signed on the dotted line. See they signed the dotted line to make the money. The reason why 3rd party security has a bad rap, especially the bigger companies is that they tend to sign a bunch of contracts to make money and have trouble staffing. So they do one of two things.. They don't fulfill the contract or they hire people who shouldn't even be security officers in the first place.

Anyways back to this particular contract I just have to laugh of what leadership is doing. See part of the leaderships job in a 3rd party security company is to asses the situation and tell the company that hired them what they need to do. However, they tend to embellish certain needs, in other words wants becomes needs. So instead of a short list of what they need now, they turn it in to a long list of laundry items. Problem is the company isn't focused on that and wont read it until later, which could be a couple of weeks, couple of months or couple of years, depends if the company takes the security they just got seriously or if they just want them to do limited duties and have the cameras do the work.

Another issue is budget, what does the security manager or director have in budget that they can allot for in terms of security? Do they have a workable budget? Is the budget 80% geared to motion detecting cameras? Its whole slue of questions that the 3rd party security leadership has no idea on and if the companies security manager or director is smart they will not tell the 3rd party security what the security budget is.

I don't want to go in detail of whats going on because I don't want anyone finding out who I'm talking about or where. But in my opinion this company should bring in another 3rd party security company to see what they can do. I also believe the company's security representative should be more involved and instead of having a 3rd party security supervisor on site, they should have they're own security supervisor for now so that you can have direct line and there is no miscommunication.
